I am honored to serve our children and community as the assistant principal of Vestavia Hills Elementary Dolly Ridge. I have been an educator for more than 20 years, and, to me, my most important work is ensuring every student, family, and educator feels valued, while also nurturing a school community where everyone succeeds at high levels.
After spending 12 years in the classroom, I served VHCS as Curriculum and Instruction Specialist and, most recently, as Director of Student Services. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Samford University and earned both my Education Specialist and Master's degrees at the University of Montevallo. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Alabama.
I have two adult sons, and in my spare time, I love hanging out with family and friends, running, hiking, biking, reading, or anything else that keeps me outside. My very favorite thing about serving as assistant principal is talking to students--about the good and the bad--and watching them learn and grow.
